first watch this clip. then read the text below
when i saw this back in the day it made me quite sad. now that i'm older it still makes me sad. according to wikipedia dan turpin was visually based on jack kirby. it makes that more tragic now that i image darkseid as stan lee. i'll steal your ideas and glory and then blast you with my omega beam.
additionally other kirby creations such as nick fury and the fantastic four were originally designed to be in the funeral scene.
you can kinda see nick fury there.
somebody better say something epic and awesome like that over my grave when i die or i'll haunt all your asses.
